For the past six years, Jennifer has been a core leader in
South Jersey NOW-Alice Paul Chapter, in positions ranging
from President, to VP of Fundraising, to Program Meeting
Speaker Coordinator. She is also the Founder and Chair
of the chapter’s South Jersey Moms task force.
Jennifer is a historian by training with a Bachelor’s degree
from The College of New Jersey and a Master’s degree from
the University of Delaware. At present she is a Ph.D.
candidate and Hagley Fellow at the University of Delaware
and in the midst of completing her doctoral dissertation
about women and work in 1970’s America. While Jennifer
is passionate about her research, she is adamant about the
practical application of historical and sociological study
to women’s contemporary issues. Likewise, she is
deeply committed to the mentoring of female students and
young women. As a long-standing NOW member, Jennifer
is committed to the organization’s core values and she is
driven by the belief that while rhetoric, protest and
cultural debates are important components of progressive
action, they must be met by real efforts to transform the
structural underpinnings of women’s social and cultural
status through legislative action, changes in public policy,
and real economic equality. She is also dedicated to
increasing diversity within NOW and reasserting the
continued relevance of the organization to contemporary
women’s issues. And finally, while Jennifer
understands the necessity of strategic legislative lobbying,
she strongly believes that only by advancing the rights and
economic conditions of everyone will we all prosper and
progress.
