BREAKING NEWS / BREAKING NEWS / BREAKING NEWS --
COMING TO NEW JERSEY ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2003
OPEN TO ALL:
MASSACHUSETTS PLAINTIFF COUPLE FROM THE VICTORIOUS LAWSUIT ESTABLISHING THE FREEDOM TO MARRY IN MASSACHUSETTS
will be attending and speaking at the next New Jersey town meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 7 pm, Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 Main Street, Moorestown, New
Jersey.
If you live in Central or South Jersey, you won't want to miss this event for ANYTHING -- Moorestown is close. If you live in North Jersey, you'll want to drive to this town meeting in South Jersey without giving it a second thought. This is your chance to meet history in person. This is your chance to see the future: To enter 2004 knowing that marriage equality, having been achieved in one state, can happen in New Jersey too -- possibly in the year ahead. This is the kind of town meeting worth cancelling any conflicting appointments you may have; there will not be another town meeting like this. Directions to the town meeting are at
www.mapquest.com/directions.
WITHOUT QUESTION, THIS TOWN MEETING -- THE FINAL TOWN MEETING OF 2003 -- IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IN THE SERIES. JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER THIS TOWN MEETING, THE NEW JERSEY STATE LEGISLATURE WILL BE HOLDING ITS FIRST HEARING ON DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP LEGISLATION. IN JUST A FEW WEEKS, THE BILL WILL BE VOTED ON. INDEED, AT THIS TOWN MEETING, WE WILL BE GIVING YOU A PERSONAL ACTION-PLAN FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.
GIVEN THAT OUR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9TH TOWN MEETING IS JUST DAYS AWAY, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES AND MEMBERS OF YOUR ORGANIZATION AND/OR CONGREGRATION. YOU ARE OUR BEST CONDUIT, AS ALWAYS, TO INFORM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE OF OUR EVENTS AND CAMPAIGN FOR JUSTICE. THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT IS BY E-MAIL -- BY FORWARDING THIS E-MAIL EVEN IF YOU RECEIVED IT SECOND-HAND.
Heck, if anyone thinks this is spam, you tell 'em this: We're only selling a dream -- the dream of equality.
Haven't we all paid too much already in being denied equality? We hope to see you Tuesday, December 9th at 7 pm town meeting, 207 Main Street in Moorestown. Moorestown, for those who don't know, is not Morristown. Moorestown is in South Jersey and well worth the ride.
All best,
