Delegations
Update
The
last day to register and update your delegation information is Friday,
April 16th. The online delegation form is available
by clicking on “Form a Delegation” from www.marchforwomen.org.
Make sure all your information, especially estimated numbers and number
of people requiring alternative March transportation and seating, is
up-to-date. If you have any questions about registering your
delegation or group, contact your respective organizer in the March
Office or call (202) 349-3838 for more information.
Bus
Registration Deadline!
If
your group is coordinating bus(es), it is crucial that you register your
buses online at www.marchforwomen.org/users/busreg.php.
This is critical so you can receive necessary bus parking information,
and also so we can be sure to provide adequate space for parking. Unlike
the delegation form you completed, this new web form will break out
specific information about your bus schedules and itineraries and will
allow the March to contact your caravan en-route in case of emergency.
You will need to fill out a separate web form for each bus unless you
have several buses leaving from the same departure point with identical
schedules.
The
deadline for bus registration is Monday, April 19th.

Co-sponsors!!! LAST March Brown Bag Lunch!!!
The
final March for Women's Lives Brown Bag lunch will be held on Wednesday,
April 14th from 12-1pm in the Conference Room on the Concourse Level
at the March Offices, located at 1725 Eye St. NW. Join the March
Staff and other Co-sponsors to hear what everyone is doing to
prepare for the March. The March is just around the corner and we
want to provide you with all of the information you need. Come get
March updates, ask your last-minute questions and so much more! If

Official Kick-off Information!
Hot,
hot, hot! Don’t miss the opportunity to meet some of the celebrities
and performers who will be at the March on Sunday! Meet up with old
friends and make new ones! Come to the Official March for Women’s
Lives Kickoff Celebration on Saturday, April 24th from 8 pm
to 11 pm. There will be music, food, vendor tables, celebrities,
performers, VIP speakers and lots of fun! Cost is a mere $20/person.
Tickets can be reserved in advance by faxing or mailing in the online
form, and can also be purchased at the door. Go to the March website (www.marchforwomen.org)
and click on “Join Us at the March Kick-off Event!” (bottom of page)
for more details as well as the ticket form. For those interested in tabling
at the DC Armory on the 24th, check out the tabling form
under this same section for more information.
March
Button Deadline!
As
the March is rapidly approaching, there is a limited amount of time to
mail materials out so that you receive them before April 25th!
The last day to pre-order buttons will be Thursday, April 15th
by 5pm EST, and all orders will be shipped out by Friday, April
16th. Keep in mind that March buttons will be sold on
the 24th at the DC Armory during the volunteer trainings and the
Kick-Off event as well as the day of the March, so you certainly
haven’t missed your chance if you don’t pre-order in time! The
button order form is available on the March website by clicking on
“Order March Buttons.”
Calling
All Volunteers!
The
March needs you! From now through April 26th, help us
make this march a success. Contact Linda Lawson at llawson@marchforwomen.org
or (202) 349-3843 prior to the March to help out. Arrive Saturday
for briefings and trainings all day at the DC Armory (Stadium/Armory
Metro stop on the Orange and Blue lines). Trainings will be in
two-hour intervals throughout the day at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm.
We need experienced as well as novice volunteers. There are plenty
of tasks for everyone who wants to help!
April
20th - Last Meetup Before the March!
Tuesday,
April 20th, at 7p.m. is the last official March for Women's
Lives Meetup. Be sure to log on to http://marchforwomen.meetup.com
to vote for your Meetup location and RSVP! We've received lots of
great feedback from people about meeting other activists in their
communities and organizing plans for after the March. Use this last
Meetup to decide how you can stick together after returning from D.C.
and continue to fight for reproductive freedoms in your city or town.
Also, this Meetup is a great opportunity to practice your chants or make
signs to hold the day of the March. Finally, be sure to bring your
camera with you to the March for Women's Lives to capture memories to
share afterwards back home as you make history in our Nation's Capitol!
Seating
Reservation Update
Trolleys
will be boarding in front of the National Museum of American History on
Madison Dr. NW between 12th and 14th Sts.
Boarding for those who have made the necessary arrangements will begin
at 11a.m. The closest Metro stop to the American History Museum is
Federal Triangle on the blue and orange lines. If you are attending the
March with a delegation, make sure your delegation leader has indicated
your seating needs on the online delegation form. If you are not
part of a delegation and have not yet done so, contact the March Office
immediately to reserve seats. Due to space limitations, we ask
that seats only be reserved for those who really need them.
ASL
Interpreters
We
will have ASL interpreters for both the morning and afternoon programs.
If you are deaf or hard of hearing and will be attending the March,
please contact Lin Galib at lgalib@marchforwomen.org
as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements for you.
T-shirt
Order Information
If
you previously ordered your t-shirts through Cyrk (the company listed on
our website form) and need to check on your order, call their Customer
Service line at (877) 704-4443. They are open from 6am – 4pm
Pacific Time, so if you need assistance be sure to call within those
hours. If you did not order t-shirts and still wish to purchase
some, they will be for sale all day and night on April 24th
at the DC Armory during the volunteer trainings and the Official March
Kick-Off for $15/each.
Media
Update
The
“Media” section of our website has been updated to include new press
releases, including the latest outlining the March for Women’s Lives
All-Star Celebrity Coalition! Check it out at http://www.marchforwomen.org/media/index.php.
Also,
the Media Credentials deadline has been extended to April 16th!
If you wish to obtain media credentials for the March, complete the form
on our website at http://www.marchforwomen.org/media/index.php.
Helpful
Hints for the Day of April 25th!
We
are strongly encouraging people to bring food and drink with them the
day of the Mall. Although food vendors will be present, their
numbers will be limited. Large coolers are not allowed on the
Mall, but small hand-held coolers, along with backpacks, purses, etc.
are certainly acceptable.
The
weather in Washington is changeable at this time of year. We
recommend you bring an umbrella to DC, along with layers of clothes.
It could start out chilly in the morning and become very warm by the
afternoon! Also, make sure you bring sunscreen just in case.
Hope
these ideas are helpful! We will have more suggestions and
information in our next (and final!) update.
Now,
more than ever, we need your energy! With only 13 days ‘til the
March, there is still time to convince friends, family, co-workers, and
peers to join you for this historic event in Washington, D.C. Keep
up the good work – we can’t wait to see everyone fill the National
Mall on April 25th!
