Delegation Bi-Weekly Update #4
Only 46 days before the March!
Start thinking Spring! Cherry Blossoms! Envision marching with thousands of women, men and children as far as the eye can see- the sound of all those marching feet- thanks to your hard grassroots organizing work!
Over 1000 organizations are Co-Sponsors for the March! The American Civil Liberties Union has become a core Organizer. The NAACP and the Sierra Club are new Co-Sponsoring organizations.
This March is historic on many levels. This is the first time that the Civil Rights Community has joined the Women’s Movement to march for all of our Reproductive Rights.
In the future people are going to want to say they were a part of the March For Women's Lives, the largest march in history, just like people now brag about being at the Civil Rights Marches and the Peace marches. Don’t allow your friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives let the mundane activities of their lives weigh them down and prevent them from joining us! This is history in the making. Everyone who can be - MUST be here!
Delegations Are Growing!
Delegation organizers, please continue to update your delegation information at the website—it's exciting to see the numbers increasing!
Go to www.marchforwomen.org and click "Form a Delegation" to update your delegation form.
We ask individuals who are unable to attend the March to please sponsor another person who is able to attend—make a donation in their name or give a donation to them directly.
Check out

National Meet Up Days
Delegations that are forming from Meetups need to register at the March
Website. Please also keep your delegation data updated, and stay in touch with the March staff contact for your state. If you want your delegation to be a part of
the 'Meetup' contingent in the March—note your preference at the 'other'
window of the delegation sign-up form.
Delegation facilitators: Consider attending local Meetups in your region to
connect or reconnect with people interested in the March. You can invite Meetup
participants into your delegation and encourage the formation of new Meetup
delegations to the March. For more information, please visit
http://marchforwomen.meetup.com
Be sure to leave March flyers at Meet Up locations if possible, and bring enough for people to take them to distribute in their communities.
New Website Additions:
Bulletin Board
Available to all registered March website users, this message board is an excellent
organizing tool and allows you to communicate with other Marchers about many different topics including: co-sponsoring, forming a delegation, transportation ideas, and organizing methods. Check it out and contribute to our ongoing discussions as April 25th gets closer and closer! See the link on the website Home page.
Travel Guide
If you're coming in from out of town, remember to check the March for Women's Lives Travel Guide. The Travel Guide contains important information about getting to DC, directions to car and bus parking, pre-ordering your delegation's Metro farecards, and links to area hotels. You can download and print out a coupon for discounted travel to and from the airports.
All this is just a click away at
http://www.marchforwomen.org/travel.
If you're coming by bus, please remember to register your bus! Update your delegation's information at
http://www.marchforwomen.org by clicking "Form A Delegation." Scroll down to find the question about transportation.
Guerilla Marketing Tips: Flyering and Postering Your Neighborhood
Help us build the buzz about the March in your communities. Post flyers and posters in the same highly visible places you see flyers promoting other Actions or Events.
Go to local businesses and hotspots to ask them to post flyers. Don't forget bathroom stalls!
When approaching business owners, try to be patient, friendly, and explain what the March is all about. Remember, every person you speak to is a potential marcher!
Hand out flyers at local hotspots and other busy public locations such as markets, fairs, meetings, and events. Click on 'Organizing Materials' to download March flyers.
March Materials
T-shirts and button ordering information is now available at the website. Link from the website home page. The deadline for ordering banners has been extended for a few weeks, but time is running out! Call Humphry's Flag Company (1-800-227-3524). Please remember that there is a 27 letter limit, so if your delegation name is long, think about ways to abbreviate it.
Upcoming Website Additions
New Voices Project – National outreach to the "voices less heard" in our communities--women of color, young people, seniors, and low income individuals in order to build co-sponsors and delegations for the March. The New Voices link will soon appear on the website home page.
Volunteers Needed for the Day of the March
Thousands of volunteers are needed for the day of the March. Tasks include: bus greeters, Assembly facilitators, 'parade' marshals, and Rally site volunteers. We will have training sessions for volunteers. Click on 'volunteer' at the website home page to register.
Remember: The day after Roe v. Wade is overturned, we don’t want to wish we had done more today.
The anti-choice movement seeks to overturn Roe v. Wade. Now, the fate of reproductive rights is in your hands. Women across the world call on us to march for reproductive justice, here and abroad. Together we can win!
