Porter spoke at the rally, along with representatives of NARAL, Planned
Parenthood, Choice New Jersey, the Women's Fund of NJ, Assemblywoman
Bonnie Watson Coleman, who read a message from Senator Jon Corzine, and
representatives who read messages from Congressmen Holt and Pallone.
Several supportive songs were sung by the Solidarity Singers of the New
Jersey Industrial Union Council.

Women's
groups supporting the right to choose an abortion gather outside
the State House in Trenton yesterday to protest President Bush's
nomination of Judge John G. Roberts Jr. to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Roberts gained ground in his drive for Senate
confirmation.
